I am very excited to announce that we will have a therapy dog joining us at school this year! Her name is Ezzy. She just finished her training this summer with an organization called Pawsibilities Unleashed that certifies service and therapy dogs. I will begin teaching the JME students the rules and expectations of having a therapy dog around during classroom guidance lessons. My goal is for her to start coming to school slowly, an hour or two a few days a week and then hopefully more often. Ezzy will be on-leash the entire time she is at JME and will always be in my control. She is a 4 year old Aussiedoodle (Australian Shepherd/poodle mix). This breed is known to be non-shedding and good for people with allergies. Ezzy was recommended for this specific work by the training organization because of her good nature and friendly temperament.
